Khopra Ridge Khayar Lake Trek

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Morning as per group size either in coach or tourist bus and car to reach Nepal Mid-West at scenic city of Pokhara, as journey takes you through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Pokhara for overnight in a nice hotel by the lake of Phewa.

Pokhara a leading touristic city blessed with natural scenery of high Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains that reflects on its beautiful lakes of Begnas and Phewa.

Pokhara is the starting and ending point of many treks and adventure around Annapurna Himalaya range.

From Pokhara short drive beyond the city outskirt to reach at Phedi, where walk begins heading uphill past farm villages and small patch of forest to reach at Dhampus village for overnight stop.

Dhampus village populated by Gurung the tribe of Annapurna region offers massive mountain panorama of Annapurna-Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail peak.

From Dhampus village continue morning walk, after catching super sunrise views over chain of peaks as route leads past forest with slow climb to reach at Potana located within nice cool woodland with views of Annapurna.

After a short break gradual climb to into forest then reaching a ridge top at Pritim Deurali, a scenic viewpoint with some few lodges around, from here our route descend to Beda Kharka and then on good winding path past Tolka nice village to reach at another large village of Gurung at Landruk with views of Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks.

Morning descend for short while to cross a bridge over Modi River and then climb on stone steps to reach at large and interesting village of Ghandruk mostly populated by Gurung people, the hill tribe of Annapurna region.

Here with time in the afternoon for short walk around village to witness local culture of great interest with views of snow-capped mountains.

From Ghandruk, morning short climb to top of the village and then on gradual walk for sometimes with uphill into cool shade of forest to reach a small place at Bhainse Kharka, in the middle of rhododendron forest.

After a nice break walk continues on nice forest path to reach at Tadapani for overnight stop with fabulous views of Annapurna range of peaks

On leaving Tadapani facing grand morning views of mountains, where our route leads into a hidden trail often visited few trekkers, as walk lead to climb within dense rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines and fir tree lines, in spring time it will magic when wild flowers are in season bloom.

Walk continues into complete wilderness to reach a small clearing at Dobato located in the middle of forest with exceptional panorama of Annapurna range of peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal towards north direction.

Dobato a cattle herder’s temporary shelter due to flow of trekkers, where few lodges have been built to cater the needs of travelers, here either in tented camps or in the comfort of simple basic lodge.

From Dobato onward in complete wilderness within thick forest and summer pasture area, as morning walk leads to reach another Bhainse Kharka and then downhill to reach a small clearing with few huts and shades at Chistebung.

After a short break and possible lunch stop afternoon leads to steep climb on leaving tree lines behind to reach at scenic and marvelous ridge of Kopra a stunning place for views facing Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna Fang / Vara Shikar with Annapurna South.

Overnight in simple lodge at Kopra or in tented camp with glorious panorama of mountain views.

Morning hike to holy lake at Khair Lake at an altitude above 4,620 m, a long day hike, but worth the views of giant mountains, a religious site where festival held annually around the month of August to worship and prayer to Lord Shiva and bathe in the icy waters, sacrifice sheep and goats, after a great moment head back to Khopra ridge for overnight stops.

Great adventure walks within hidden areas comes slowly to an end as morning leads downhill past Chistebung, back into forest with more descend to reach at nice Poon / Magar village in Sauta village.

Sauta village offers grand views of Dhaulagiri range of mountains with time here to explore this nice farm village. 

From Sauta where walk leads to join the main trekking trail at Chitre village with grand views of Dhaulagiri mountain range, from here slow climb into beautiful pine and rhododendron dense forest to reach at scenic Ghorepani village for overnight stop.

Ghorepani village of Poon / Magar tribes located beneath scenic viewpoint of Poon Hill and within forest surrounding of rhododendron tree lines.

Morning hike to Poon Hill a scenic view point a popular spot among trekkers where you can catch striking sunrise views over 360° wide panorama of Himalayan peaks from Dhaulagiri-Annapurna to Manaslu range with magnificent Machhapuchare the fist tail peak.

After enjoying fabulous moments down to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue walk on main trails within serene forest and then downhill from Ulleri village to Tirkhedhunga a small village for overnight close to nice waterfalls.

Last walk of the adventure around high hills of Annapurna as morning starts with descend into low farm areas of paddy fields and terraces and then walking with views of beautiful waterfalls as walk ends at nice village of Bhirethati, where drive take you back at scenic Pokhara for last overnight stop within Annapurna range, after a most enjoyable and scenic time on Khopra Ridge and Khair Lake Trekking.

Morning an overland journey to reach Kathmandu on leaving Pokhara after breakfast where drive lead on the same interesting highway to reach at Kathmandu and to your hotel, with afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities.

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.
