Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking quite different to other normal scenic walks around high Himalaya of Nepal, where Himalaya Lungta Treks and Expeditions designed and crafted this unique short adventure that includes scenic views in the shade of Tamang immense old culture.

Tamang Heritage Trail trekking is much of exploration where few numbers of travelers often venture around unknown country which is close to popular Langtang Valley and Gosainkund routes.

Tamang Heritage Trail trekking falls near to Tibet border also which on Old Trans Himalaya Salt and Caravan route, which is still active with trades and travelers visiting both side of the country.

A fascinating journey that takes you in the heart of ancient heritage of Tamang the ancient tribe of Nepal Himalaya, history records migrated to Nepal past 2,000 years ago from inner Mongolia and Tibet bringing with them varied impressive custom and colorful cultures that you will witness on this beautiful walk on Tamang Heritage Trail trekking.

Tamang Heritage Trail starts with scenic and exciting drive from Kathmandu heading northward to reach at nice villages of Rasuwa district within Langtang Himal range, where walk enters into rural farm villages after a pleasant walks of ups and downhill.

Enjoying time within Tamang villages of Gatlang, Tatopani (a place with natural hot spring) and Thuman and back at Syabrubesi a journey of great delights observing age-old heritage and cultures similar to Tibetan traditions of Buddhism religion and touch of ancient Bon (pre Buddhism).

Walk also leads into lovely alpine woodland with tall rhododendron and pine tree lines with incredible views of high Ganesh, Manaslu with Langtang Himal and as far towards Jugal mountain range in the east direction.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning free or join in for sightseeing our city guide takes you around great places of interest with exciting tour around world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon for trek preparation.

Central Himalaya and Langtang Himal within Rasuwa district, located north of Morning having early breakfast taking a drive to reach higher country around Kathmandu.

Journey passes through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Dhunche a major town and headquarter of Rasuwa district, where Langtang National Park entrance located, our ride continues further downhill on zig-zag winding road to reach at Syabrubesi village for first overnight within Langtang Himal.

Continue past spread-out farm area with gradual climb to reach a large village of the area at Gatlang populated by Tamang tribe.

On arrival greets you with traditional hospitality, and then transfer to a local homestay for overnight stop, with time to explore around interesting villages and interact with locals.

First day beings walk west and off the main motor road using old trekking trail to reach Gatlang village, journey

A free day to enjoy and immerse within Tamang culture and custom and witness the happy and simple life of village communities and explore around houses to catch the in-depth of Tamang ancient heritage of both Buddhism and ancient pre Buddhist practice known as Bon.

Bon a religion worshipping natural spirits and mountains, forest and rivers similar to North American native Indians and Inwiks or Laplanders, which you will find much interesting that old way of nature practice still exists in this remote areas of the planet.

Morning begins facing views of Ganesh and Langtang peaks and as far north of Tibetan range of mountains, where slow climb leads past farm villages and into alpine woodlands to reach at Tatopani for overnight stop with time around afternoon to enjoy in its natural hot springs as 'Tatopani’ means hot water, where you can take a short walk to have good refreshing time in the warm pools.

Morning walk leads near around the border of Tibet as walk leads towards Nagthali and Thuman, our route follows north on gradual path and with climb most of the day, but with few short downhill along with views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung, walk leads into nice cool forested area to reach at Nagthali, a moderate size village for overnight stop

From Nagthali with pleasant time mixing with local and enjoying the culture of Buddhism religion, as walk leads to climb on top the highest spot of the walk and journey reaching on top Nagthali a great view point for super scenery of surrounding green hills, valley with white snow capped peaks of Ganesh-Manaslu and Langtang Himal.

After a great moment and with spectacular views downhill walk to reach at

another interesting village at Thuman, and then take a short drive back

to reach at Syabrubesi village for final overnight stop around Tamang people country within Langtang Himal region.

Morning overland journey to reach Kathmandu after departure from the lodge at Syabrubesi, where drive lead on same exciting and interesting highway to reach at Kathmandu and to your respective hotels, with afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities and shopping.

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where Himalaya Lungta staff and guide transfer you to the airport for your flight homeward bound.

  • Personal Trekking gear and equipment, down or duvet jackets, sleeping bags. (Sleeping bags and down jackets and climbing equipment can be hired in Kathmandu at reasonable cost if it's too much to carry from home)
  • Emergency Evacuation by any means of Transportations and personal medical kit.
  • Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal / medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
